개인정보처리방침
Last updated: July 25, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how CertiQ (“CertiQ”, “we”, “us”) handles information when you use the CertiQ mobile applications and this website (together, the “Service”). CertiQ provides vendor-specific mobile apps and a shared web platform for professional certification exam preparation. We aim to collect only the information needed to provide, secure, and improve the Service.
Information we collect
- Account information. The mobile app automatically creates an anonymous Firebase user identifier so that core features and cloud sync work before you connect an account. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive an authentication identifier and the account information that you or the provider make available, such as your name and email address. The sign-in flow also processes authentication tokens and related provider metadata needed to authenticate and secure your account.
- Study data. Your progress, bookmarks, notes, exam answers and history, streaks, and settings. Mobile study data is stored on your device and synced to Firebase Cloud Firestore under your anonymous or connected account identifier. Connecting the same account on another supported device or the website lets the Service restore and sync this data.
- Purchase information. When you make an in-app purchase, Apple App Store or Google Play handles the payment. We and RevenueCat receive information needed to validate and restore the purchase, such as your CertiQ app user identifier, product identifier, transaction or receipt information, purchase history, and entitlement status. We do not receive your full payment-card details.
- Analytics and technical information. In production, Firebase Analytics in the mobile apps and Google Analytics on the website may collect product interactions, app or browser and device information, identifiers, app version, operating system, usage data, and diagnostic information. Our authentication and analytics providers may derive an approximate country or region from network information for service functionality, security, and analytics. CertiQ does not request precise GPS location for these purposes.
- Support information. If you contact us by email, we receive your email address and any information you choose to submit.
We do not sell your personal data, and CertiQ does not show third-party advertising or use your data for cross-company advertising tracking.
How we use information
- To provide, personalize, maintain, and secure the Service.
- To save, restore, and sync study progress for anonymous and connected accounts.
- To validate purchases and provide the content you own.
- To understand feature usage, diagnose problems, and improve the Service.
- To respond to your support requests.
Service providers
We rely on a small number of trusted providers:
- Google Firebase (Google LLC) — authentication, cloud storage and sync through Cloud Firestore, and mobile analytics.
- Google Analytics (Google LLC) — website analytics.
- RevenueCat — validating in-app purchases and managing entitlement status.
- Apple App Store and Google Play — app distribution, payment processing, and purchase records. Apple and Google also provide the optional sign-in services used by CertiQ.
- Vercel — hosting and delivering the CertiQ website.
These providers may process information in countries other than the one where you live and handle it under their own terms, privacy policies, and security practices.
Cookies and similar technologies
The website and its providers may use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies for sign-in, security, preferences, and analytics. You can control cookies through your browser settings, although disabling required storage may prevent some features from working.
Data retention and deletion
Local study data remains on your device until you clear it, delete your account, or remove the app. Account and synced study data are generally kept while the relevant anonymous or connected account remains active. You can delete your CertiQ account and associated Firestore study data from Settings. Supported mobile deletion flows also revoke the connected Apple or Google sign-in authorization. Uninstalling the app by itself does not necessarily delete data already synced to the cloud, so use the in-app deletion option before uninstalling if you want the cloud account removed.
Analytics, support, security, and purchase records may be retained for the period reasonably needed for those purposes or as required by law. Account deletion does not control transaction records that Apple, Google, or RevenueCat may retain under their policies to process purchases, restorations, refunds, fraud prevention, or legal obligations. You may also contact us using the address below if you cannot access the in-app deletion option.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal data, or to object to certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at the address below.
Children
CertiQ is intended for people preparing for professional certifications and is not directed to children under the age at which parental consent is required in their country. We do not knowingly collect personal data from such children.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information. No online service or storage method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above.
